The Artists' Gallery, 416 Main St., Historic Downtown Canon City, invites the public to our March 6th "First Friday" art reception from 5-8 p.m. Two very diverse artists will have their work featured throughout the month:

Painter, Pat Wiles, is a nationally known professional transparent watercolor, acrylic and pastel artist, as well as an illustrator of popular children's books. Her Western-themed subjects, often of horses, are masterfully executed. As an avid horsewoman, her philosophy is that "you cannot paint a horse properly if you have never brushed one". For over four decades, she has exhibited her work throughout the United States, as well as in Paris. Her recent work simply shines with a new degree of looseness and color that is captivating!

Native Coloradoan, Rhonda Denney, loves fiber art. After discovering the art of quilting in 2004, she began exploring the use of fabrics as her art palette. Currently focusing on creating art quilts, incorporating an infinite variety of colors and textures, she has won awards for her amazing pieces, and several have been published in books. A multi-faceted individual, Rhonda employs many different artistic techniques to create art that is an expression of her mercurial depths of whimsy and seriousness. Her fanciful beaded decor items, as well as limited edition high-quality Giclee prints and note cards of her art quilts, are also available.
