Girls' Night Out: 'Girls Gone Mod' Fashion Description:
"MOD" FOR A CAUSE
Popular Junior League Girls' Night on April 17 will feature "mod" fashion trends - proceeds benefit children's literacy and health programs
Remerging Mod fashion trends will provide for a unique and fashion-forward shopping experience at this year's Junior League of Pueblo's popular annual fundraiser, Girls' Night Out.
Now in its 11th year, and scheduled to take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Pueblo Convention Center, Girls' Night Out (GNO) will feature a mod-inspired fashion show, free drink and dessert bar, Mod art and vintage clothes. Mod was born from a British youth subculture from the mid-1960s and late 1970s. The reemerging fashion trend is defined by streamlined fashion, angled prints and underground jazz-inspired music that celebrate the independent and highly visible woman, seeking change and progress.
In addition to a Mod show that highlights the fashion and an era that began to empower women, ladies can shop from more than 60 local vendors and a silent auction that includes a Disney Land Package giveaway. Not to mention, during the final hour of the show, the Mod-reminiscent, jazz-inspired tunes of Andy, Brooke, and Ryan of the Martini Shot Band will entertain!
After request from guests and vendors, the show will begin an hour earlier at 5 p.m. for 'Twilight Shopping.' Sponsored by Primrose Retirement Center, the relaxed shopping hour will be followed by a Mod-inspired fashion show thanks to Seabel's and custom designs by Mia Sanchez, owner of Style Bride Boutique and Designs, Boulder Bands, and vintage mod collections by Vintage Treasurers and Hannah Halley's Darling Sunday. Also on hand, will be pop art collection from Downtown Pueblo's Kadoya Gallery, providing ladies both a unique shopping experience and an opportunity to purchase a mod piece for their own home.
Plus, ladies will have chance to win Discount Limousines Party Bus Giveaway and take their ladies on a night out on the town in style. Ladies who purchase a $20 raffle ticket are also eligible to win $1,000. All proceeds from the event go toward the League's free community programs to promote children's literacy and fight childhood obesity. Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door and can be purchased at any Legacy Bank location beginning March 1, or from a League Member.
