Hundreds of alpine plants will be on sale as the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society presents its annual sale Hours for the event are from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Rare plants from alpine and steppe climates will be showcased, including specimens native to Colorado, Europe, and South Africa. The sale will offer hundreds of unusual and rare alpine, hardy, and dwarf species, as well as related items, including handmade ceramic pots and gardening tools. Throughout the day, expert growers will provide educational mini-seminars for gardeners and a "My First Garden" area for children and families. The inaugural alpine garden photo contest is open to both members and nonmembers. Visitors are also invited to explore Denver Botanic Gardens, where some 700 Colorado Native plants and 400 alpine species provide gardening inspiration all year long. Admission to the Annual Spring Plant Sale is included in the Denver Botanic Gardens gate fee. Discounted rates are offered for seniors, students, and children.
