Many improvements have been made to the second floor of the Rawlings Library, and now it's time to share them with the public! Exciting things are planned for the grand re-opening celebration including a tour of the newly-remodeled space and a hands-on activity in the new Idea Factory, which is a space that was created to encourage curiosity and facilitate exploration and creation. Patrons can explore in person two new technologies, both of which won the Best of Show awards at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Oculus Rift virtual reality goggles and Leap Motion Controller (which uses motion instead of a mouse or touchscreen to control a computer screen). A 3-D printing demonstration and access to the Adobe Creative Cloud will also be available. Enter to win a drawing for your very own Leap Motion Controller! Heavy appetizers and drinks will be served. This celebration is free an open to the public.
