Dr. Timothy Miller, Professor of Religious Studies at Kansas University, will present a talk spotlighting several spiritual communal groups in American history, including the Shakers, the Oneida Community, the Hutterites, and a few of the lesser known ones such as one or two founded in Asian regions and some that were clearly spiritual but not firmly grounded in any one established religious tradition. This event is presented in conjunction with the Pueblo Archaeological and Historical Society celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Drop City, though the lecture will not be on the Drop City commune.
