Pueblo City Schools and the City of Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department are proud to present Shrek, the Musical as the 57th Summer Musical.

It is time for ogre-sized family fun! Join Shrek and his loyal friend, Donkey, as they set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairytale misfits and a cookie with attitude, and you've got the must see musical comedy: Shrek the Musical!
Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure featuring the book by David Lindsay-Abaire along with new songs from Jeanine Tesori and the ever popular "I'm a Believer" by Neil Diamond.

Originally produced on Broadway by DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Shrek The Musical brings all the beloved characters you know from the film, Shrek, to life on stage. Shrek The Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

Matinee Performances: Saturday, July 18th, 2015 and Sunday, July 19th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
Evening Performances: Monday, July 20th - Thursday, July 23rd, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

*Auditions for Cast, Chorus and Orchestra are open to students who will be in Grades 9 through College and who have not attained the age of 23 years. Auditions will be held on June 3rd and 4th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at South High School. Rehearsals will start on June 5th at South, then Monday through Friday evenings beginning June 8th at CSU-P, with performances scheduled July 18-23, 2015. There is a fee of $75.00 per person that can be paid through selling advertisements.

Information packets will be available at the Parks and Recreation department, all Pueblo City High Schools, and the Pueblo City Schools Administration building at 315 W. 11th St. on April 1, 2015.
