Join us for the Opening Night Artist Reception for local Pueblo artist Bob Benvenuto as he presents his new show "Is it live, or is it Pueblo? This fascinating show brings together the artist's photographic work and rarely seen dioramas that explore the reality of the world we live in today. The show will run from September 12 to October 16.

Artist Statement: My work explores a visual narrative of the world I live in and see each day around me. The pictures in this exhibit are a selection of composite and unaltered "straight" photos. The idea for this exhibit came about after several followers of my work kept commenting on how it was getting more difficult to tell the difference between the "fake" and "real" images being viewed. Was their vision or my vision being skewed in this world of advancing technology against a backdrop of decaying cultural and physical infrastructure?

In this age of information overload it is increasingly difficult to distinguish the authentic and the fake. With so many contradictory images that stare at us from our devices, we are even more deprived of being able to rely on our most elemental senses to validate our experience.

At the Opening Night Artist's Reception you will have a chance to determine if the works presented are Live or if they are Pueblo. The winner of this competition will receive a special 'Center of Beauty' package.
