Health Equity Learning Series: Health Equity and Racism Description:
The Southeastern Colorado Area Health Education Center (SECAHEC) and the Rawlings Library are pleased to present this year's third Health Equity Learning Series luncheon being presented by the Colorado Trust. The speaker for this recorded event will be Professor John A. Powell. He is the Director of the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society (Haas Institute) and Robert D. Haas Chancellor's Chair in Equity and Inclusion at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of Racing to Justice: Transforming our Concepts of Self and Others to Build an Inclusive Society. Prof. Powell will speak about the history of race, racism and power in the United States, and how it relates to health equity and health care. This is a free event and lunch will be provided.
