Next week, Puebloans can officially check off Chick-fil-A as one of the restaurants they would like to see open in the area. The chicken sandwich chain's newly constructed site at the North Side Albertson's shopping center is set to open Oct. 23.
A Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting is set for 9 a.m.
As part of the opening, Chick-fil-A will host one of its famed First 100 contests that gives area fans a chance to win a free weekly meal for a year if they are among the first 100 customers in line. In other cities, the event has led to people lining up days in advance.
The contest is open only to area residents. A list of qualifying ZIP codes is published on the company's website at http://www.chick-fil-a.com/pueblo.
