Beginner Alignment Yoga Principles Weekend Workshop Description:
Working with the physical body for strength, balance and flexibility and safety
Basic Principles include:
Asana Alignment_Practice correctly for safety and strength
Pranayama_The Art of Breathing
Bandhas_ How to use bandhas for optimal experience in asana and pranayama
This weekend workshop is geared to give the student a solid understanding of basic yoga principles-focusing on the physical body. Diving into the skeletal and muscular systems of the body we will learn proper alignment to build the proper foundation for our yoga practice that we may increase our strength, flexibility and balance and, very importantly, to keep our bodies safe from injury. We will learn two pranayama techniques and several important bandhas to further our practice and take it to a new level.
It is recommended that the student attend each of the four sessions to fully understand and practice the principles. No yoga experience necessary. This Workshop is good for the beginner, but also for the yogi ready to take their practice to the next level by learning the correct alignment for the asana. Teacher Michele Woods has been teaching yoga since 2004, and focuses on these three aspects because she understands that when we master these components, we can take our practice deeper and our awareness higher
