The Artists' Gallery, 416 Main St., Historic Downtown Canon City, hosts our monthly "First Friday" event on Nov. 7th, from 5-8 p.m. Join us to meet the artists, enjoy complimentary refreshments, and help support the arts in Southern Colorado!

Featured Artist for the month is seasoned photographer, Mel Williamson, an outdoorsman and educator, who captures exquisite, luminous images of the landscapes of the Southwest. He skillfully "immerses himself into this wonderful dance with light, textures and emotions", with breathtaking results.

Also featured is potter, Sylvia Caron, who views her pottery as a "canvas" for the intricate designs she incorporates into her decorative and functional work. Studying the architectural beauty of nature, she uses clay to create detailed sculptural relief in a variety of botanical forms, including grapevines, pine cones, leaves, and flowers.
