Seven - a documentary Play Description:
Resource Fair at 2:00 pm
Performance at 2;30 pm
Resource Fair continues with Q & A at 4:00 pm immediately following the performance

By making Seven available to the public without charge for admission, Seven cast and crew members, along with participating partners hope to make a difference in Pueblo and Southern Colorado by sharing the message of Seven to start conversations on difficult issues here in our own community, and to realize that where there is passion and a voice to be heard even one person can effect change and make a difference.

A truly extraordinary event, Seven, is a groundbreaking work of documentary theater that captures the remarkable lives of a diverse and courageous group of women leaders from around the world. Written in collaboration with seven award-winning playwrights (Paula Cizmar, Catherine Filloux, Gail Kriegel, Carol K. Mack, Ruth Margraff, Anna Deavere Smith, and Susan Yankowitz), the play explores the bravery of women who have triumphed over seemingly insurmountable challenges to create major changes in human rights around the world.

“Poignant and compelling…it offers assurance that even the most disadvantaged individuals can speak out and do something.” – Salt Lake Tribune
“Riveting, explosive, and inspiring drama…starkly emotive…reaffirm[s] the belief that one person could indeed make a difference.” – Huffington Post
“It was impossible not to be inspired by the widely varying examples of courage the project corralled.” – Washington Post

Seven provides the opportunity to meet seven remarkable women, women who stand for so many others who found their voices, who persistently overcame powerful interests and personal tragedy and found the will to change lives and promote peace and equality in human rights issues. Taken from real transcripts from interviews with the women of Seven, the documentary drama teaches that one person can make a difference and that change is possible. Seven originated in collaboration with Vital Voices Global Partnership that introduced the playwrights to seven inspiring women leaders from around the globe who have been honored by Vital Voices for their extraordinary courage and for their power to transform lives in their communities.
