Join The Jeremy Facknitz Band as they celebrate the release of Jeremy's 5th album of original work, "From Those Sweet Ashes", on Thursday, April 16th 2020 at Stargazers Theatre in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jeremy Facknitz has been entertaining audiences with his lovingly crafted music and high-energy performances for over 20 years. Since the 2002 break-up of his Detroit-based band "The Ottomans" (2001 Detroit Music Award Winner, Best New Alternative Band), Jeremy has performed primarily as a solo act, sharing through an often quirky fusion of folk-rock and jazz his intimate stories of life, love, and self-discovery.

But from 2003 to 2017, those stories fell almost entirely on deaf ears. Facknitz carved out a living performing at bars, coffeeshops, and corporate events while teaching lessons on the side. "I was happy to be making a living performing music, but my original music wasn't being heard, and as the years passed I found myself more and more frustrated playing to the din of drunken conversation." Things came to a head on July 17th, 2017 when Jeremy was diagnosed with viral meningitis. "I came to face to face with my mortality, and I realized it was time for a change. I quit the bars and spent the next year making the leap to house concerts, touring, and performing solely for listening audiences."

The leap has paid off. Today, Jeremy continues to tour the United States, western Canada and the U.K., performing primarily at house concerts and listening rooms. When he's not on the road, he and his Colorado Springs-based backing band, consisting of Mike Kimlicko (bass), Brad Plesz (drums), David Siegel (violin) and John Standish (keys) can be found at Stargazers Theatre from time to time. On this night, they'll also be joined by Mary Lindsay (cello) and Eric Blackmore (guitar).

Roma Ransom, who will be opening the night, was born when Grace Easley and Gordon Lewis began busking together on the streets of Springfield, Missouri. They soon took their act on the road and relocated to Colorado Springs in 2011 for more musical opportunities. Since then, Roma Ransom have traveled the US, sharing their love of music from every culture. While you're sure to hear nods to country, pop, R&B, reggae, klezmer, balkan, classical, avant garde, contemporary, jazz, cha-cha, rumba, Nepalese/Tibetan, Middle Eastern, gypsy, funk, and soul, (just to name a few), their music is best described as "eclectic bohemian world psych folk".

Doors open at 6pm, music starts at 7pm. $10 advance, $12 at the door. This show is all ages!
