Join us for our annual EllaFest Musical celebrating life through Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Spiritual, and Blues music while raising awareness and money to support local families affected by sickle cell anemia. This event will include a Sickle Cell Shining Star Challenge gift basket as well as a vendor fair in the lobby. Inspirational speaker, trainer, and coach, John Register, will MC this special event. Musicians include Linda Styles, Ron Ivory, Cassandra Collins, Gregory Goodloe, and GMWA.


The Ella Mae Bransom Sickle Cell Association, who host EllaFest annually, provides needed support to those with Sickle Cell Anemia and their families. EMBSCA, named for the late Ella Mae Gothard-Bransom, provides essential support services to those with Sickle Cell Anemia, a hereditary blood disorder associated with a number of acute and chronic health problems such as severe infections, attacks of severe pain, stroke and an increased risk of death.

There currently are no medical support services available in Southern Colorado, which means families must travel to Denver to receive treatment and related therapies. This imposes a great deal of stress and expense on these families; many of whom lack the means to properly care for and support loved ones with Sickle Cell. The volunteers of Ella Mae lend their time and often their own expense in supporting our Southern Colorado families, transporting many of them to and from Denver medical services as well as seeing to their needs here at home. This work can only continue with your generous support.
