Calling all kids ages 3 to 12! The derby is at the Anticline Fishing Pond in the Rock Canyon Day-Use area below the dam. Registration starts at 7 am. The derby starts at 8 am and ends at 10am. Fish Trophies will be awarded for the biggest fish and the most fish caught in two age categories.

The first 70 kids to register will get a free pole to take home. We will provide all the bait. We recommend bringing your own fishing poles in case there are more that 70 participants.

The day of the derby is also the Saturday of Free Fishing Weekend in Colorado. While the derby ends at 10 am, we encourage the whole family to pack a picnic lunch, stick around, fish some more and enjoy a day at the park.

The event is free, but a valid park pass is required on every vehicle that enters the park. That is only $7 for the day.
