Electrification of Transportation
6:30 PM
Rawlings Library Infozone Theatre 4th floor
Electrification of Transportation Description:
Electric vehicles (EVs) are an important part of meeting global goals on climate change. Just last week, Colorado’s Air Quality Control Commission voted to approve the state’s adoption of the zero-emissions vehicle mandate. On August 23, Colorado became the 11th state to join California’s ZEV program. This means that automakers must increase sales ZEVs from the current 2.6% of cars sold in Colorado to 6.23% by 2030.
In support of National Drive Electric Week (Sept 14-Sept 21), the Renewable Energy Owners of America (REOCA) will be hosting the panel discussion “The Electrification of Transportation in Pueblo.”
Mayor Gradisar will introduce our panelists, who will discuss the current EV landscape in Pueblo County and the importance of the correct implementation plan.
The panel will include Alexandra Aznar from NREL; Laura Getts, former Pueblo County Energy Coordinator and current SIEA Manager of Business Development; Nathan Baxter from Vidmar Honda; Jack Snell, Energy Services Manager at San Isabel Electric Association; Devin Moeller, Renewable Energy Manager at Black Hills Energy.
The panel will discuss the challenges of EV growth in Pueblo, dealer attitudes and incentives regarding EVs, the City/County Plans for more EV chargers and the conversion of fleet vehicles, the positive effect of EV chargers at the workplace, the synergy between EVs and Solar, Time of Use, and why it is critical to include the utility in the discussion of charger locations.
Join us for this informative glimpse into Pueblo’s Electric Vehicle Future and what it means for all of us ! Learn about Pueblo's Place in Colorado's Energy Future.
