New Vintage Jazz specializes in songs from the "Hard Bop" era of jazz (mid 50's thru the 60's). They do fresh versions of tunes from the great masters of the era such as Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, etc. Judging by the size and enthusiasm of the crowds at our shows, they seem to be filling a void in the local jazz scene by playing serious classic jazz tunes that the listeners can relate to no matter how well-versed in the jazz genre they happen to be.
