The Women's Foundation of Colorado, in collaboration with the Women's Studies Program, presents the romantic comedy "The Big Sick." Based on a true story, a romance develops between individuals with vastly different backgrounds. A mysterious illness forces interactions between families, challenges expectations, and reveals true feelings - all the while raising important issues of communication and respect. Starring Kumail Nanjiani, Zoe Kazan, Ray Romano and Holly Hunter. The movie is the kickoff event for the WFCO's annual luncheon, featuring correspondent Noor Tagouri and commedian Mayood Sayid, with the theme of "Many Voices, One Vision." The Foundation's mission is to enhance the economic empowerment of women throughout the state of Colorado.
