Poet Kyle Laws will read from and sign copies of her newly released collection of poems titled “Ride the Pink Horse,” on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2 p.m., at Steel City Art Works Gallery, 216 S. Union Ave., Pueblo. Admission is free. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
The book is largely Western, taking its title, “Ride the Pink Horse,” from a 1940’s noir book and movie set in Santa Fe. The first half uses dialogue between a man and woman on the high plains from a 1911 short story, “The Pink Sash,” together with responses in poems. The second half contains elegies to writers and artists from the landscape of the West.
