Latino/a Book Festival Part 1 THURSDAY, NOV. 2 | 6:30 p.m. | RA, InfoZone Opening night with a book discussion by Dr. Ramon del Castillo and Dr. Richard Carillo, primary contributors of the book Cultura y Bienestar (Culture and Well-Being) Meso American Based Healing and Mental Health Practice Based Evidence. This will be followed by a Native American blessing ceremony, an example of teatro used as communal therapy, music poetry and poejazz.
Latino/a Book Festival Part 2 FRIDAY, NOV. 3 | 11:30 a.m. | RA, Ryals Room Dr. Ramon del Castillo and Dr. Richard Carrillo will hold a workshop for counselors, healers, psychologists, social workers, etc. based in El Hombre Noble and community healing circles. The general public may attend.
Latino/a Book Festival Part 3 SATURDAY, NOV. 4 | 9 a.m. | RA, InfoZone Anita Rodriquez will discuss her book, Coyota in the Kitchen, A Memoir of New and Old Mexico, which features stories and recipes that introduce two eccentric families that would never have eaten together but for the improbable marriage of the author’s parents: a nuevomexicano from Taos and a painter who came from Texas to New Mexico to study art. Join this exciting book discussion.
