Join us for the Pikes Peak Blues Community Summer Jam! The Pikes Peak Blues Community exists to enhance the vitality of Blues and American Roots Music by supporting Live Performance and Education. The Pikes Peak Blues Community was founded in 2003 by a group of loyal and dedicated music lovers. Amy Whitesell and Carrie Goodman initiated the programs: Paint the Town Blue, Celebration of Our Next Generation, National Act Concerts, Collaborative efforts with local business and other non-profits. Their boundless ideas, energy and enthusiasm along with the support of members, bands and businesses during the first 2 years launched Pikes Peak Blues Community.
The Pikes Peak Blues Community sponsors open Jams four times during the year and we invite all interested musicians to participate. For each Jam, we round up some ol' pros to form a host band, and musicians who drop by are invited onstage to play along. Musicians bring their own instruments - guitars, basses, horns, vocal chords, harmonicas...and whatever else you like to play and we supply the drum kit, keyboard, and sound system. All music lovers and dancers are invited to the Jam, too! A $5 donation at the door will be appreciated. The Jam kicks off at 6:30PM. Make plans to join us!
