The Artists' Gallery
First Friday Artist's Reception Description:
The Artists' Gallery invites the public to our exciting "First Friday" monthly art event on September 2nd, from 5-8 p.m. Three of our talented local artists will be featured throughout the month, in addition to a surprise "guest artist" exhibit!

Award-winning multi-media artist, Sharon Conner, loves to explore various media to create images that are intriguing, familiar and complicated. Sharon delights in the unexpected and "happy accidents", appreciating the serendipitous results! Her new works are rendered in an impressive variety of media, reflecting Sharon's diverse interests and prolific talent.

Extraordinary jewelry artist, Virginia Ames, is showcasing her exquisitely-crafted beaded jewelry - an art for which she has great passion. Virginia creates vintage-look and contemporary pieces, incorporating unusual "found objects" and re-purposing treasured jewelry pieces and watches. Truly wearable art!

Primarily a painter, Pat Chace loves all forms of art. She believes that creating art is a journey that is both fun and rewarding. Pat is always evolving--learning, experimenting, and studying everything, all the while thinking, "How can I recreate this"...

Our guest artist, renowned sculptor Robert Henderson, will exhibit some of his amazing work. Dubbed the "Warbird Sculpor" by a generation of WWII veterans, Robert has chronicled the history of aviation in monumental bronze sculptures. An impressive collection of his bronze "warbird" memorials can be viewed at the "Study Hall", a unique outdoor sculpture garden at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Ever inquisitive, Henderson sees no boundaries--his current projects not only provide beauty, but challenge thought. Come meet Robert and learn about his new provocative body of work!

Please join us to meet the artists and support the arts in Southern Colorado! Complimentary refreshments will be served while guests enjoy live guitar music by Tom Gudding.

The Artists' Gallery, 416 Main St. in Historic downtown Canon City, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information call (719)345-4070 and visit our Facebook page.
