The Pueblo Creative Corridor’s First Friday Art Walk festivities begin at 5 p.m. on February 2. Visit more than 35 art galleries, restaurants and businesses throughout the Creative Corridor! First Friday Art Walk activities are free.

Pueblo’s First Friday Art Walk features more than paintings, photography, fiber arts, sculpture, glass and pottery. Many of the Creative Corridor’s art galleries and shops have special demonstrations of live art activities. There will be newly hung shows, refreshments, live music and entertainment. Union Avenue Historic District
Arts Alliance Studios, 107 S. Grand Ave.— Presenting an after-hours concert in the Annex at 8 p.m. Join us for an evening of unique sounds and aural landscapes, with a live performance by extraordinary didgeridoo player John Skrivan and experimental music maestro Bob Marsh. Be on the lookout for mystery guest(s)!

El Pueblo History Museum, 301 N. Union Ave.— Hosting an African American Experience to celebrate Black History Month starting at 5:15 p.m. The gospel extravaganza will feature poetry, prose, a live performance by Music for the Cause and a book signing with the Keynote series author Jo-An Gilmore-Jackson.
The Hanging Tree Café, 209 S. Union Ave.— Celebrate our local talent at monthly open mic! Sign-up begins at 5:30 p.m. Music, spoken word and comedy are welcome.

John Deaux Art Gallery and Turf Exchange Visual Arts Center, 221 S. Union Ave.— As you view new works by the gallery artists, enjoy live music by Nuthatch Pants upstairs in John Deaux Art Gallery while Tom Boyd performs on his Marxophone downstairs in the Turf Exchange.

Pueblo Heritage Museum, 201 W. "B" Street— Historical photos of Pueblo by the Pueblo County Historical Society will be displayed during the month of February. Join us for the opening reception in the Heritage Room from 5 to 7 p.m.
Steel City Art Works, 216 S. Union Ave.— Celebrating the opening reception of “The Heart of Art” with featured metal artist, welder and sculptor Aaron Williams, who uses history, time and nature as part of his inspiration. In addition, more than 40 artists will be on hand with the tiniest of jewelry, to mid-size photographs, to large painted furniture.
Downtown Area/Main Street District
Formulary 55, 423 W. 4th St.— Explore their line of locally made small-batch bath and beauty products during their one open studio day a month! Noon to 7 p.m. in their showroom.

Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, 210 N. Santa Fe. Ave.— Hosting a free public reception in the Helen T. White Galleries with live music by local singer/songwriter Tom Munch! Free admission and complimentary refreshments are made possible by an anonymous cowgirl.

Featured shows include Representing the West: A New Frontier in the White Gallery, a juried art show presenting both classic and non-traditional approaches to the subject, with the artists competing for over $5,000 in prize money and a “People’s Choice” title; Goodnight Barn Invitational Art Show in the Hoag Gallery, a Western-themed exhibition featuring works by Tom Lockhart, Colleen Bobinac, Jan Mapes, Kim Mackey, Mike Untiedt, Audrie and Rudi Mergelman, Marty Brens, Teresa Vito and Sonja Caywood; Melanie Yazzie Coded: Works on Paper in the Third Floor Foyer, whose work draws upon her rich Diné (Navajo) cultural heritage; Native American Fetishes in the Second Floor Foyer, featuring Zuni fetishes from the collection of John Peters; Aquarius Watermedia Exhibition in the Regional Gallery, presented by the Southern Colorado Water Color Society; and presenting works by Mid-Century American space planner and textile designer Ruth Schnee: American Icon in the King Gallery.

Artisan Textile Co., 121 Broadway Ave.— We are excited to welcome and showcase nationally acclaimed handweaver, designer and educator Lois Weaver. Grupo Folklórico del Pueblo Studio, 120 Lake Ave.— Presenting an interactive workshop and dinner. Come learn a folk dance, create folk art projects and enjoy tacos!

Blo Back Gallery, 131 Spring St.—Opening reception for “THREE SIX FIVE: Photography by Kevin Malella” from 6 to 9 p.m. The show features one photograph for every day of 2017.
