First Friday Artist's Reception
5:00 PM
The Artists' Gallery
Description:
The Artists' Gallery beckons you to awaken the senses at our First Friday celebration of the arts! Please join us on March 3rd, from 5-8 p.m., to salute two of our very diverse artists:

Painter, Pat Wiles, can be counted on to present new and different work as she continues to explore the beauty and flexibility of watercolors. Her new series, entitled "Fantasy, Music, Magic and More", stretches the imagination as she leaves her comfort zone to present some wildly different subject matter. Regarding the inspiration for her current body of work, Pat is fond of saying, "My students made me do it!" Pat's work has been shown in galleries and museums around the U.S, as well as in Paris. She is also a prize-winning illustrator of children's books.

Kathy Pinover established Of the West Jewelry Design in 2004, crafting exquisitely refined jewelry. Her specialty is making delicate handmade beaded chain, using sterling silver and gold wire, to unite lovely crystals, pearls and unique stones. Kathy's theme-inspired pieces reflect her personal connection to the beauty of the western landscape. Of her passion for this art form, Kathy says, "Creating jewelry is an exercise in imagination that balances the discipline and analysis of my career in healthcare." Incredibly, she also finds time to teach jewelry-making at Clear Creek Academy of Jewelry and Metal Arts in Denver.

Ric Bolinger, of High Peaks Design Custom Jewelry, has contributed one of his stunning solid silver "Relic" pendants as a prize for a drawing culminating on this evening! Fill out a drawing slip at the gallery during our regular business hours, as well as on First Friday. Additionally, our annual Customer Appreciation Sale will take place throughout the entire month of March, offering a great opportunity to purchase quality art work at reduced prices!

Bring your friends for a pleasurable evening of art, live guitar music performed by Tom Gudding, and complimentary refreshments personally served by the artists! The Artists' Gallery, 416 Main St., Canon City, is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information call (719)345-4070 or visit us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/TheArtistsGallery/.
